A woman shot and killed her 10-year-old son before killing herself in a motel room in the United States, ap quoted authorities as saying. The bodies of Donne Marie Slonaker and her son were found at a Motel 6 in the state of Georgia Monday morning, Clayton County police spokeswoman Sonja Sanchez said. «She had shot her son in the back of his head and then shot herself,» Sanchez said. A motel employee told police Slonaker, 36, of Warner Robins, Georgia, appeared depressed when she checked into the motel Sunday evening. When the woman did not check out Monday morning, the hotel manager knocked on the door but got no answer. The manager then entered the room and found the bodies. The handgun used in the shootings had been reported stolen from one of Slonaker's neighbors in Houston County, authorities said. Police did not know why Slonaker came to Clayton County or why she might have been depressed, Sanchez said.
