United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) has started distributing to Palestinian beneficiaries in Gaza the aid worth $1 million provided by Arab Gulf Programme for United Nations Development Organizations upon an initiative of Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz. The aid includes medical equipment for operation rooms, equipment for children's hospital, medicines and electricity generators. The aid campaign had arrived by air from Saudi Arabia in Amman and was sent on trucks to the West Bank and then to Gaza Strip. Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, General Supervisor of the Campaign said that in coordination with the Jordanian authorities, Jordan's King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein directed Hashemite Jordanian Charity to deliver Prince Talal's urgent aid to Palestinians in Gaza. It is noteworthy that this urgent aid is an extension of the development initiative launched by Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz to help Palestinians and to fight widespread poverty in West Bank and Gaza Strip. The initiative consisted of three stages in 2000, 2003 and 2006.
