Officials say an American Airlines flight carrying about 130 people to Chicago has been diverted to Miami because of nose gear trouble, according to The Associated Press. Miami International Airport spokesman Greg Chin says Flight 862 from West Palm Beach is expected to land shortly. Pilots of the MD-80 jet were burning off fuel as a precaution before landing. Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the problem is either with the nose gear or its door. The plane was flying by the tower before landing so that personnel can see if the gear is properly extended.
