A Moroccan journalist has been jailed after an appeal court confirmed a prison sentence handed to him for publishing confidential information related to the fight against terrorism, the director of the weekly in question said Wednesday according to DPA. Mustapha Hormat Allah was jailed late Tuesday in Casablanca to serve the five months that remained of his prison sentence. Mustapha had been provisionally released after being jailed for 53 days, said Abderrahim Ariri, director of the weekly al-Watan al-An. Ariri himself was handed five months, but he will not have to serve the sentence unless he commits the offence again. Eight military officers were earlier given jail terms ranging from six months to five years for leaking a confidential document to Mustapha, whose story was published in July 2007.
