83 health projects including general and specialist hospitals as well as health colleges and medical towers and center were implemented in the last four years. The report issued by the health ministry said 24 hospital projects are expected to be implemented in 1429 in a number of regions of the Kingdom with the capacity of 3150 beds in addition to 340 primary health care centers. Dr Khalid al-Marghalani, the spokesman for the health ministry, said the ministry is currently implementing 138 health projects in the various regions at a total cost of sr 14.6 billion. Al-Marghalani noted that the ministry is planning to implement 1010 primary health care center in the various regions at three phases at a total cost of sr 3.6 billion in addition implementing projects of 20 centers for the treatment of blood pressure and diabetes at a total cost of sr 110 million, four health colleges at a total cost of sr 80 million as well as a national laboratory in Riyadh at a total cost of sr 120 million.
