Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), International Trade Centre (ITC) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) will join hands to organize the Asia Healthcare 2008 show here next month, Bernama reported. The three-day event beginning March 10 is aimed at improving the availability of and access to essential and natural medicines as well as pharmaceutical products in South Asia and South-East Asia by increasing trade, investment, cooperation and the exchange of experiences. The event, with the theme of "Exploring Business Partnerships For Production, Distribution, Technology Transfer And Outsourcing", will be held at the MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre (MECC). MATRADE in a statement Friday said participation was expected from more than 100 enterprises from the South-South region, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam. In addition to this, some 50 Malaysian companies, trade associations and government agencies are also expected to participate in the event. The event will incorporate seminars and presentations by industry experts on the development of the pharmaceutical sector as well as its business potential, practices and perspectives in the Asian region.
