The Arab Economic and Social Council has assigned the Arab League's Secretariat General to conduct a study on the importance of establishing an Arab Ministerial Council for Water. According to a final communiqué issued at the end of the closing session, the study would be presented to the Arab Economic and Social Council's next session. The meeting also decided to convene in Damascus on 26 March to prepare for the Arab economic summit scheduled for Damascus end of March 2008. The ministers urged Arab finance institutions to contribute to the Arab Turkish Cooperation Forum. They forwarded the Arab Children parliament project to the council's next session for further study. The Council recommended that the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance for African Countries prepares a strategy on the Arab counties view to contribute to the provision of technical aid in Africa.
