A crash Thursday involving a bus and a tram in downtown Milan left at least one dead and over a dozen injured, news reports said, according to dpa. The two public transport vehicles collided head-on near the central Porta Vittoria, the ANSA news agency reported. Police closed off the area to traffic, only allowing ambulances and other rescue vehicles access to the crash site. Apparently the tram, in an attempt to avoid a car obstructing its path, swerved abruptly and crashed into the bus which was travelling in the opposite direction, ANSA said citing witnesses.
