Ban Opposes New Israeli Settlement Construction

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is against Israeli plans to construct over 1,000 new Jewish settlement homes in East Jerusalem, spokeswoman Michelle Montas said.
Separately, Montas said, Middle East Quartet Envoy and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair telephoned Ban to discuss on the situation in Gaza.
Montas said both leaders discussed Gaza and “the way to move forward.”
