President George W Bush on Wednesday signed a 152-billion-dollar plan to boost the flagging US economy with a mix of tax incentives for businesses and average Americans, according to DPA. Individuals will get the bulk of the tax relief - up to 1,200 dollars this year for married couples, plus more for children - in a bid to boost consumer spending, the economy's engine. Bush proposed the economic stimulus package next month. He praised Congress, led by the opposition Democrats, for agreeing on "a really good piece of legislation" quickly. "The bill is large enough to have an impact," Bush said at a White House signing ceremony.
