China's government warned of more snow- and thunderstorms as millions of Chinese began returning home after the chaotic travel that plagued the start of the Chinese Lunar New Year, according to DPA. "The overall transport situation is still relatively grim," state media on Monday quoted the government's task force that is handling the weather-related transport problems as saying. Although the government task force said traffic on major highways and rail lines had returned to normal, it warned more snowfall was expected in southern China over the next 10 days as holiday return travel was expected to hit its peak Tuesday. It urged local officials to prepare for the bad weather, the first of which hit as sleet in the south-western province of Guizhou.
