Thailand's King Bhumibol
Adulyadej endorsed the Cabinet nominations of new Prime
Minister Samak Sundaravej on Wednesday, paving the way for
his government to take office.
The official announcement of the king's action was made on
television, which also showed Samak in ceremonial uniform
presenting the list for the monarch's approval.
Samak leads a six-party coalition government, formed after
his People's Power Party won the most parliamentary seats
in a December general election. The new Cabinet members
will take office officially after swearing an oath of
service to the king Wednesday night, the Associated Press reported.
