The dollar slipped against the yen Wednesday in Asia as worry over risks of a U.S. recession weighed on the greenback and stocks declined. The U.S. dollar bought 106.50 yen in Tokyo in midafternoon in Tokyo, down from 106.92 yen late Tuesday in New York. The euro fell to US$1.4644 from US$1.4652. Against other Asian currencies, the dollar was higher. It rose 0.50 percent against the Philippine peso to 40.615 and added 0.43 percent against the Indian rupee to 39.575, the Associated Press reported.
