Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the president of youth welfare and Head of the Saudi Olympic Committee, received here today President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Dr. Jacques Rogge. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Sultan bin Fahd highlighted the role being played by the IOC in the development of the international Olympic works as well as narrowing gaps among the nations and cultures. He reiterated the keenness of the Saudi Olympic committee on enhancing its relations with the IOC. On his part, Rogge lauded the Saudi Olympic committee in supporting the international Olympic movement notably in the Arab region. Prince Sultan bin Fahd briefed the President of the IOC on the arrangements made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the Olympic tournaments due to be organized in China this year. Meanwhile, Prince Sultan bin Fahd reiterated the support of the Kingdom to the stand of Qatar as regards hosting Olympiad 2016.
