Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Mujwar and his Pakistani counterpart Mohammedmian Soomro called on Saturday businessmen of both countries to support the government's efforts to develop aspects of economic cooperation between the two countries in areas of trade and investment, SABA reported. During their meeting with Yemeni and Pakistani businessmen, Mujawar clarified that a Yemeni-Pakistani commission would be formed to follow up implementation of the agreed upon plans, programs, protocols and agreements that resulted from the visit of Soomro to Yemen. Mujawar reviewed with attending businessmen opportunities for investments in the country, particularly in sectors of the cement industry, textile industries and production, manufacturing, mineral, tourism and Aden Free Zone, pointing out to the importance of trade exchange between both countries and affirmed government's keenness to develop its relations with Pakistan in the field of import, particularly wheat and rice. For his part, Pakistani Prime Minister affirmed his country desire to enhance and develop aspects of the bilateral cooperation with Yemeni government, pointing out that the joint Yemeni-Pakistani commission will have an important role to strength investment and economic cooperation in various fields. Soomro pointed out to the importance of the strategic location of Yemen to other regional markets which made Pakistani investors show greater willingness to increase economic cooperation, reviewing advantages granted to investors in Pakistan, particularly the free transfer of funds, cheap laborers and capabilities in addition to security and economic stability.
