Poland and Ukraine camn not afford any more setbacks in their preparations for the Euro 2012 tournament, DPA quoted UEFA boss Michel Platini warning on Wednesday. Speaking at the end of two days of UEFA executive board meetings ahead of Thursday's UEFA Congress in the Croatian capital, Platini called for a "true government mobilisation" after a period of instability in an effort "to avoid any critical slippage." "I have the distinct feeling that the next four to six months will be crucial in order to avoid any critical slippage in sports and public infrastructure projects and to protect the global credibility of the Euro project itself," Platini said in a UEFA statement. The statement came after speculation that UEFA could strip the two nations of hosting the prestigious tournament. Poland and Ukraine won a UEFA vote in April 2007 over Italy and a joint bid from Hungary/Croatia to become the first eastern European Euro hosts. -- SPA
