A number of governors and senior officials today lauded the decisions issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to bring down the phenomenon of price hikes. They included Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region, Prince Mohammed bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region, and Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Red Crescent association. In separate statements, they praised the measures taken by the government to help reduce the hiking prices of commodities and foodstuffs, including the reduction by 50% of port fees, increase of the equivalent of 5% of government personnel salaries and other measures.
