The total value of the exports of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia soared by 24% to SR 26540 Million in the third quarter of 2007 with an increase of SR5129 Million in comparison with the same period in 2006, according to periodical report released by general statistics and Information department at The Ministry of Economy and Planning. The total value of imports in the same period last year increased by 29% to SR 86447 Million with an increase of SR19214 Million compared to the previous year, the report said. The Countries which received the Saudi non-Petroleum exports were lead by United Arab Emirates and China and then followed by Kuwait and Qatar. Meanwhile, the United States topped the list of the countries from which Saudi Arabia imported non-Petroleum commodities in the third quarter of last year. It was followed by China, Germany and Japan, the report added. As regards the volume of trade exchange with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, the report pointed out that Saudi non-Petroleum exports to these countries hiked by 25% to SR6392 Million in the third quarter with an increase of SR1276 Million. As regards the Saudi non-Petroleum imports from the GCC states they increased during the same period by 9% to SR 3630 Million with an increase of SR 302 Million.
