Eight people, including a child, were injured on Sunday after a powerful explosion rocked a gunpowder store at a marketplace in the central Yemeni province of Dhamar, witnesses and a news report said, according to DPA. A fire engulfed the store before the blast took place inside the store at Souq al-Raboa'a market in Dhamar, some 100 kilometres south of the capital Sana'a, the witnesses said. They said two workers survived with severe burn injuries. The official Saba news agency said five of the injured were in critical condition and were rushed to a hospital in Sana'a. It said a cigarette is to blame for the fire.
