Governor of Assir region Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, who is also the Deputy Chairman of King Khalid Charitable Foundation, patronized yesterday at Al-Tuweiq Palace here, a ceremony for launching King Khalid Prize. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Faisal announced the launching of the prize which aims at encouraging the researchers to conduct researches which serve the interests of the country. He noted that the Foundation is keen on the successful charitable works which are based on serious researches. On his part, Dr Saad Al-Bazi, the Prize's Secretary General, highlighted the great services extended to the Kingdom by the Late King Abdulaziz and his sons, including King Khalid. He noted that the branches of the Prize include: the prize of national achievement; the prize of social sciences; the prize of the social responsibility and the prize of the social projects. The Prize with its four branches reiterates the fact that development and prosperity are basic goals for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he said. Dr Al-Bazi pointed out that the Kingdom is based on the Islamic creed, adding that the Saudi government has been encouraging all matters that may lead to the development and growth. --MORE
