The United States has provided the Indonesian police with 15 patrol boats for use in security maintenance operations against piracy, drug smuggling and maritime crimes in Indonesian waters, news agency "ANTARA" reported. The assistance was handed by US Ambassador to Indonesia Caron Hume to National Police Chief Gen Sutanto here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Sutanto said four of the type C patrol boats would be based in Batam, four in Bitung, two in Bangka and five in Tarakan.
