Meteorologists reported increased snowfall and below-zero temperatures Wednesday for central Iowa, Denver and Omaha, Nebraska, according to The United Press International (UPI). Residents in central Iowa and Omaha could face up to five inches of snow and below-zero weather into the weekend because of the storm coming in from the central Rocky Mountains, the Des Moines (Iowa) Register and Omaha World-Herald, reported Wednesday. "This isn't likely to be a blizzard as we describe it, with high winds and substantially reduced visibility," National Weather Service meteorologist Craig Cogil said of Iowa's snowfall. Residents in Denver were hit Wednesday with cold temperatures and 25 mph winds, The Denver Post reported. The Rocky Mountain News reported Arctic temperatures and snow caused school delays and cancellations Wednesday in Denver's metro area, while streets in the central part of the city stayed clear.
