Up to 50 pro-Taliban militants were killed as the security forces repelled an attack on a military base in the country's tribal area bordering Afghanistan, army said on Sunday, according to dpa. "Around 250-300 miscreants attempted to attack on Ladha fort in South Waziristan but security forces retaliated with artillery and small arms fire," a statement from the military said. "Intelligence sources revealed killing of 40-50 militants."
