A clash between NATO troops and Taliban insurgents in southern Afghanistan left two civilians dead and five others wounded, the alliance said in a statement Monday. The troops battled militants after a roadside bomb attack on NATO's International Security Assistance Force soldiers on Friday near Tirin Kot, the capital of Uruzgan province, the statement said. On Saturday, ISAF soldiers returned to the location of the clash and discovered two dead civilians and five others wounded. «The dead are a child and an adult; the injured included three children,» the statement said. «It is not clear how they sustained their injuries.» There were no ISAF casualties in the clash, the Associated Press reported.
