Saudi Aramco representatives played a large role in the recent Society of Petroleum Engineers' (SPE) Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) held in the Indonesian capital. More than 10 SPE papers and presentations were delivered by Saudi Aramco organizations, and a keynote address was given by Saudi Aramco chief petroleum engineer Khaled A. Al-Buraik. The conference, under the patronage of Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and in the presence of Yemen's Minister of Oil and Minerals Khaled M. Bahah, was co-sponsored by the Society of Indonesia Petroleum Engineers (IATMI). The theme was “Resources, Professionalism, Technology: Time to Deliver.” The opening ceremony was marked by the signing of several energy deals. The event is a vital gathering, bringing together exploration and producing professionals from the region and the world. Practitioners and researchers joined in knowledge-sharing and dialogue to advance the technology and best practices of the disciplines applied to meeting today's energy challenges.
