President Mwai Kibaki is prepared to form a government of national unity as a way out of Kenya's political turmoil, his office stated Saturday, according to dpa. The statement from Kibaki's office said he was "ready to form a government of national unity that would not only unite Kenyans but would also help in the healing and reconciliation process." It was issued after Kibaki met with US envoy for Africa Jendayi Frazer, who earlier had talks with Odinga. Kibaki's office also said that the president and Frazer agreed that "all efforts should be made towards ensuring that the politically instigated violence is urgently brought to an end and affected families are assisted to resume normal life."
