Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki met caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro, said an official statement. The premier emphasized the need for developing an integrated approach to meet much-needed regional energy requirements. He said the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project was very important for Pakistan and would help meet its energy needs. Soomro said Pakistan and Iran enjoy close neighbourly relations and are playing a significant role in the region for peace and stability. He said terrorism is a threat to the region as well as the world and "we need to work together to combat it."
