Five people were killed and 15 wounded in a suicide bombing in eastern Baghdad on Tuesday, police sources said, according to DPA. An Iraqi man detonated his explosive belt in a funerary gathering in the Zayouna area, according to Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency. A police source told VOI he expected the death toll to rise due to "the powerful explosion and the serious condition of some of the wounded." Separately, an explosive device went off near an Iraqi army patrol in Zab, 85 kilometres west of the northern city of Kirkuk, wounding three Iraqi soldiers, local authorities said. Meanwhile, south of Kirkuk, a group of gunmen shot dead a civilian in the Rashad area. Also Tuesday, two more civilians were gunned down by unidentified militants in the same regioon.
