Jordan urges Israel to stop settlement activity

Jordanian Foreign Minister Salah Bashir on Sunday
urged Israel to take steps to ensure success of peace talks with the
Palestinians, including a halt to settlement activity in East
Jerusalem, according to dpa.
Bashir made the remark during a meeting with the visiting US
Senator Charles E. Schumer, who is currently on a regional tour, an
official statement said.
