The Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa stated that Saudi Arabia, the Chairman of current Arab summit and Egypt have requested holding of an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers to discuss the course of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations and the issue of Israeli settlement, as well as the security situation in Lebanon. The meeting is likely to be held in the first week of next January. He explained that he made contacts during the last two days on this issue with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and a number of Arab foreign ministers and Arab ambassadors in Cairo. He added that the aim of the meeting is to discuss the situation of Palestinian-Israeli negotiations and the Israeli settlement policies that threaten to break the path of Annapolis, stressing the need to remove all settlements.
