Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Friday expressed shock over the assassination of former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto and strongly condemned the act which has killed many innocent people. "It is indeed very sad that such a tragedy has taken place. "The resort to extremism and violence is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated anywhere at any time. The perpetrators must be brought to justice," he said in a statement, according to Bernama. Abdullah, who is also chairman of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), extended his deepest condolences to the families of Bhutto and the others who were killed. "I hope the people in Pakistan will remain calm and I pray that the situation in Pakistan will soon stabilise," he added.
