One US soldier was killed and 10 were wounded in a suicide attack in Iraq's Diyala province, while seven Iraqi policemen were injured in a suicide attack south of Baghdad, DPA quoted sources as saying today. An Iraqi interpreter was also wounded in the Baquba attack, which happened Thursday, the US military said. Five civilians were killed in the attack, the statement added. Earlier reports had said 13 Iraqi volunteer fighters, including a leader, were killed and eight wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up targeting a volunteer centre linked to local public committees in Baquba. In Yusufiyah district, south of Baghdad, a suicide bomber blew himslef up inside the area's police station, wounding seven police, medical sources told independent Voices of Iraq news agency. The sources said the number of casualties was expected to rise. Meanwhile, US-led coalition forces killed one terrorist suspect and detained 19 during operations Wednesday and Friday targeting al- Qaeda network in central and northern Iraq, the US military said.
