Prince Turki bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Culture and Information, said the Saudi television has put its vast technical and personnel capabilities under the disposal of this year's pilgrimage season, providing live coverage of all Hajj developments free of charge for Muslims all over the world. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said TV's Technical Affairs Department has allocated special units to live transmit through satellites from seven out-door transmission vehicles positioned in different locations in the sacred places in addition to moving studios equipped with microwave channels, montage units and tele-cameras. He said the Kingdom has shouldered all the costs of transmitting and reserving the transmit coverage for six days, starting from 7/12/1428H. through satellites of Intelsat, Arab sat, Aspo 5 and Aspo 6. For the second year in a row, the Saudi Television transmitted live this year's annual ceremony of replacing the Kaaba dressing on early morning of Arafat day as well as the Eid prayers from the Makkah Grand Mosque on its Channel I and from the Madinah Prophet's Mosque on Channel II. --More
