New projects worth more than SR 1.7 billion were completed for the current Hajj season (1428 AH) by the Central Administration for development projects, an affiliate of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural affairs to enable Pilgrims to perform their Hajj rituals in ease and comfort. The most prominent of these completed projects was the SR.840 Million - third phase of the development project for Jamarat Region including the second floor of the Bridge and other public utility services, the Ministry's Under Secretary Dr. Habib bin Mustafa Zain Al-Abidine, who is also Chairman of the Central Administration for development projects told The Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The second accomplished phase included the implementation of the second phase of King Khalid road, implementation of the first phase of rain and flood drainage system in the hills of eastern mountains in Mina and other Holy places, implementation of water storage and fire-fighting network in Muzdalifah along with other service facilities, Zain Al-Abidine elaborated. As regards the future Projects they include a study of re-naming, and re-numbering utilities in the Holy places to realize guidance development to help Pilgrims to know places of their residence and the roads as well as showing locations of service facilities, he added.
