Dozens of Turkish jets bombed border towns in northern Iraq Sunday, reportedly killing at least one person in attacks against Kurdish rebels, according to UPI. It was the first Turkish air raid against strongholds of the Kurdistan Workers Party, the PKK, though Turkey in recent weeks has made ground incursions into Iraq, the BBC reported Sunday. Saturday night's air raid lasted three hours, killing at least one woman and wounding at least two others in the Qandil mountains, CNN-Turk TV reported. Unconfirmed reports said there may be more casualties, The Turkish military said it suffered no injuries in its "comprehensive air campaign" against terrorists, the BBC reported.
