Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Region, opened here today the 8th Makkah conference, organized by Muslim World League (MWL) under the title "Islamic Discourse and Temporary Challenges". A number of dignitaries addressed the opening session. They include Dr. Ahmed bin Nafe'a Al-Mawraee, Chairman of the conference's Steering Committee; Dr. Saeed Hareb Al-Mihairi, representative of the participants; MWL Secretary General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki; the Kingdom's General Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, who is also Chairman of the Senior Ulema Commission and Religious Research Department; and Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region. They called for moderate and tolerant discourse based on the Sharia law and Islamic principles and values. They said there is need to address the world of today using the modern tools of propagation and call. They wished the conference, which attracted a number of Islamic thinkers from all over the Islamic world, every success.
