Suleiman bin Jassir Al-harbash, the Director General of OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) has met in Vienna, Austria, Sierra Leone's President Ernest Bai Koroma and the accompanying delegation comprising a number of cabinet ministers. During the meeting, which was held Thursday at the Vienna- based headquarters of OFID, Al-harbash reiterated the OFID's readiness to extend assistances to overcome recent disturbances witnessed by Sierra Leone. On his part, President Koroma highlighted his Country deep-rooted relations with OFID since 1976 and lauded the assistances being extended by OFID to his Country. Later, President Koroma and Al-harbash signed a loan accord worth U.S. $12, 510, 000 to help in the construction of vital highway that link Freetown - the capital with Kwaindi City in Sierra Leone. They also signed another agreement amounting to U.S. $ 5,400,000 to reduce debts within the framework of the assistance program for the heavily indebted countries.
