Israeli dispute related to borders, water, settlements, refugees, Jerusalem and security along with other issues, to bring about the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with east Al-Quds as its capital within the interests of both countries to live in peace and harmony. The communiqué emphasized removing of all settlements from the occupied Palestinian lands. It affirmed the importance of negotiations that cover the Syrian, Israeli and Lebanese tracks for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East based on international law, resolutions, Road Map and the Arab peace initiative. The communiqué stressed the importance of following up the mechanism of negotiations to reassure all parties and the importance of their commitment to a fixed timetable of negotiations by the end of 2008. The GCC expressed resentment over the aggressive Israeli policy of imposing sanctions on the Palestinians, mainly in Gaza, even after the Annapolis conference. --More
