Citing Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar's speech at the opening session of the summit, Qatar's Premier warned against being dragged after foreign designs in the region. He said it is for the GCC and Iran to serve their mutual interests and not the interests of others. On the participation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the summit, he said that is an important event, noting that relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar are positive and good. Expressing pleasure for the attendance of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and other GCC leaders, he said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the backbone for the GCC countries.
