Arab Forum, established in 2004, has been playing an important role in enhancing Arab-Chinese relations. Shedding light on the Saudi-Chinese relations, he said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is an important country in the middle east, is keen on developing the Chinese-Arab relations and promoting a dialogue among the civilizations. He noted that the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China jumped from $290 million to $20.1 billion in 2006. The Kingdom has become China's biggest trading partner in West Asia, he said. On his part, Arab League's assistant secretary general for political affairs Ahmad bin Hali highlighted the existing Arab-Chinese cooperation and coordination in the field of the Arab causes like the Palestinian problem, Darfur problem and the situation in Iraq.
