Uganda said Thursday an Ebola outbreak in a western district bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo had left 16 people dead of 51 infected by the fast-spreading killer disease, according to DPA. The health ministry, confirming the Ebola outbreak, said the government had mobilized all stakeholders and political leaders in the area. The director general of health services said isolation facilities had been set up and all close contacts of the suspected cases were being closely followed up. It was the second Ebola outbreak in the East African state following a devastating one which hit the war-ravaged northern region earlier this decade, leaving 224 people dead of over 400 infected.
