Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo said Tuesday that she was looking forward to better relations with Australia under new prime minister Kevin Rudd, accordign to dpa. Arroyo said the Philippines considered Australia a true friend and hoped to sustain close partnerships in the areas of the economy, politics, security and culture. "Our long-standing friendship has given rise to a multifaceted relationship that continues to benefit our peoples and adds meaningful new dimensions over time," she said. "I look forward to continuing this close partnership between our countries as we promote greater economic, political, security, social and cultural cooperation between our nations," Arroyo added.
