The first Saudi relief plane arrived in Mali carrying 79 tons of relief items. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, the Chargé D'Affaires of Saudi Embassy to Mali Ibrahim Abdulwahab Al-Gharib explained that the assistance came in line with directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to provide humanitarian aid for the government of Mali to mitigate the effects of floods and torrential rains which occurred in Mali, pointing out that this relief consignment contains a large number of foodstuffs and other relief items. The aid relief included 3500 cartoons of foodstuffs, 500 tents , 2500 blankets, 10 thousand mosquito nets and 7 electric generators. On behalf of the Minister of Security and Civil Defense, the Director of the Office of the Minister of Internal Security and Civil Defense in Mali Col. Mady Bobo Kamisoko expressed thanks to and appreciation of the Saudi government for the relief aid.
