Norwegian deputy foreign minister Raymond Johnson received here yesterday the delegation of the Shoura (consultative) council, which is currently visiting Norway. The Norwegian official highlighted the wise policy adopted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in tackling the Middle East problems. He hailed the announcement of the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz at the third OPEC summit, held in Riyadh, to allocate $300 million for financing scientific researches pertaining to energy, environment and climatic changes. The Norwegian deputy foreign minister reviewed with the delegation means for further cementing Saudi-Norwegian relations, notably the parliamentary relations. He also reviewed with the delegation a number of regional and international topics. The delegation also met the head of the administration of the Middle East at the Norwegian foreign ministry and reviewed with him a number of regional and international issues notably the peace process in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the delegation attended the dinner party held by the parliamentary committee for foreign affairs at the Norwegian parliament. It is worth mentioning that the delegation, led by Abdullah bin Saeed Abu Milha, arrived here on Monday on a several-day visit to Norway in response to an invitation from the Norwegian parliament.
