Taliban militants battled an Afghan army patrol in southern Afghanistan, leaving 11 suspected insurgents dead and four soldiers wounded, an official said Sunday. The Taliban ambushed and clashed with the patrol in Zabul province on Saturday night, said Qasem Khan, a provincial police official. Authorities recovered the bodies of 11 dead militants alongside their weapons, Khan said. Four Afghan soldiers were also wounded, the Associated Press reported.
