Malaysia and Pakistan have signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) aimed at boosting trade relations between the two countries, said an official statement. The FTA would further help Pakistan in reduction of tariffs on import of palm oil from Malaysia. It will come into force on January 1, 2008. International Trade and Industry Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz and High Commissioner (ambassador) of Pakistan Tahir Mahmood Qazi at Kuala Lumpur signed the Malaysia-Pakistan Closer Economic Partnership (MPCEPA).
