Upon instructions of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, who is also General Supervisor for the Saudi Charity Campaign for Relieving Quake and Tsunami victims in East Asia, the campaign's Chairman Dr. Saed Al-Orabi Al-Harthi, who is also Advisor to the Minister of Interior, has recently transferred SR1,050,000 to Darussalam Institute in Eastern Java in Indonesia, it was reported here today. In a statement, Al-Harthi said this transaction brings to SR1,500,000 the amount of money transferred to the victims of earthquake and tsunami in East Asia. In the first payment, we have transferred SR450,000 to Darussalam Institute, Al-Harthi said. Since the occurrence of the tsunami disaster, the campaign has provided corporeal assistance and aid programs worth SR66 million. They include sending of food baskets, repairing and furnishing of damaged mosques, providing them with quran books, building of houses for homeless people, financing the purchase of fishing boats for affected fishermen, providing of fuel, tents, medicine, ambulances and clothes, digging of wells, providing aid for official institutions and a number of international organizations working in the field of humanity in those countries.
