British politicians and Queen Elizabeth II on Sunday marked Remembrance Sunday by laying wreaths to commemorate the country's war victims, according to dpa. Thousands of war veterans also took part in the ceremony in the government district in central London where a minute of silence was observed for victims of both world wars, as well as those who died serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Forty-two British soldiers have been killed - in Iraq and the Afghan province of Helmand - since the last Remembrance day.
