Bulgaria has agreed to reduce the more than one billion dollars of debt Iraq owes it by 360 million dollars (245 million euros) including interest, Bulgaria's Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski said in Sofia Sunday, according to dpa. Iraq owes the Eastern European country a total of 1.86 billion dollars in debt racked up during the years of Bulgarian communism up to 1989. Bulgaria was part of the US-led coalition that toppled the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein in Iraq in 2003.
