Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Interior Minister, has approved carrying out an awareness program against drugs at schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The awareness program, which is the first of its kind at the local and international arenas, will be implemented in cooperation with the General Directorate of combating drugs and the Education Ministry. The program aims at activating the role of the students in the awareness programs through establishment of groups under the name of 'the awareness group against harms of drugs'. The group will include a number of students who work under the supervision of the students' tutor. The program will be implemented in the first stage at eight schools in Riyadh, and if it proves to be successful, then it will be implemented at all schools in the Kingdom's various regions.
